What’s better than having a summer holiday outing? Many of us will spend the summer of 2020 at home and visiting local places. Let’s make the most of the summer and enjoy our “staycations” with those we love. For example, surprise the family with a wonderful summer outing. Here are our 7 best tips for a magical trip!
1. Pack for your trip in style
Depending on whether you pack light or take the kitchen sink, here are three tips in one! At Smartphoto you will find several options for packing and carrying all the things you need to take with you on your trip. Which do you prefer?
A roomy beach bag!
Not just a beach bag! This great roomy bag is for when you want to carry a lot of things and have them safely zipped up. The bag is dark blue and approx. 35cm × 53 cm. It has stylish leather-like straps that make it comfortable to wear. You can personalise the flap on the front of the bag with a photo and/or text. You can find all our designs for beach bags here.
New shopping bag!
If you just like to throw things in an open bag with room to spare, the new shopping bag is perfect! The bag is new for summer 2020 and is much bigger than the existing fabric bag. The size of the new shopping bag is 40.5cm × 38 cm with a wide bottom that allows the bag to stand when it’s full (and we’re guessing it will be!).
Shoulder bag – for the most important things
The shoulder bag is a perfect size for carrying everything important that you want easy access to, like your wallet, car keys, tissues and hand sanitiser. The flap can be personalised with a photo and/or text.
2. Coffee – absolutely necessary for all toddler parents on the trip
Coffee is indispensable in the fight against sleep deprivation, when you’re tired but still want to have fun with the family. Imagine sitting on the beach or in the park and sipping your coffee from a customised and snazzy enamel mug. A new product from Smartphoto that we all want!
3. Take a good picnic lunch
Be sure to take a good picnic. Once the family is out, you’ll need fuel to keep going! A pasta salad is a classic for hot days, but not everyone likes the same things. Here’s a super tip from us: Make sure you take a good picnic basket (for example, our new stylish box with a bamboo lid) and take the different ingredients for your pasta salad in separate jars – one for the pasta, one for the vegetables, etc., so everyone can make up their own pasta salad according to their tastes! Yum! Find all lunch boxes here.

4. Serve your picnic in style (so the kids will eat it)
In the summer heat, it can be difficult to get the children to eat properly. One tip to make the trip a little more fun is to serve your picnic on these super-cool personalised plates.
5. Something fun to do in the shade
Once the children have run and jumped and played in the heat, it’s nice to have something fun to do on a blanket in the shade. How about enjoying a card game where you are all on the cards? You can find more customisable card games from Smartphoto here.
6. Make sure everyone stays hydrated!
It’s very important to make sure that everyone in the family drinks enough water during your trip, but is there anything worse than when the water gets hot in the sun? Our tip is to use a stainless steel water bottles. There are two types at Smartphoto. Our screw cap bottle. Our screw cap bottle has double walls that keep the drink cold for up to 24 hours! Or there’s our Flip-top bottle – ideal for children with its built-in straw
7. For tired children on the car ride home
After a lovely day in the sun, there’s sure to be tired kids in the car. Protect children from the strong sun with a sun shade for the car. Simply attach it to the inside of the window with its suction cups. Of course, you can personalise the sun screen by putting your own photo or image on it.
We hope that these tips were useful and you have a wonderful trip!
